Darted into the garden just now:

Popped into the garden with the camera in hand and after a few seconds, this dragonfly suddenly appeared and landed on a nearby leaf. Stayed for just 10 seconds or so before going, but grabbed 4 shutter presses, this being the best.

My Smugmug gallery
It was about 3 to 4 inches ling, so I don't know how young, but I think it is just the way the camera has recorded the shot - maybe the angle of the light and lens was such that it looks like it has created an eyelid of some kind...
