Thumbnail Image Size

Sorry if this has been answered before. I didn't find it with a search.
I was putting together a site. When I started to set up the galleries I selected the main image that would become the representative image for the gallery i.e the one that shows on the "Browse" page. The issue is the image I selected gets cropped! Is there a setting I have missed that will re-size the selected image to it will fit into the chosen thumbnail size without a crop? I hope i have been clear.

Thank You
Lonnie

If you selected showing in grid style (square thumbs) Smug will crop the image to produce the thumb.
Seems to be always the center of the photo.

I created special crops, squares, for the feature photo for some galleries so I could define the crop. That way when
subject is off center and/or not zoomed enough I could control this.

    Hi Lonnie,
You can use the settings for the content block on your Browse page to change the layout of the content block. There are options for using different layouts, sizes, and aspect ratios for the photos. To get there, go to your Browse page, then click Customize> Customize Site, and click on the wrench in the top left of the content block. If you'd like more specific information for your site, please send us a link to your site. You can do this here, or directly to us SmugMug heroes via email at help@smugmug.com.

    Thanks Allen and Amanda!
I'll give Amanda's suggestion a try first. I may have to fall back to Allen's. I thought of that also. The site is for my wife and she is very particular about how the images are presented and didn't like the crops on the feature image.

The only gallery style that uses true thumbnails, Th and Ti is a Smugmug style gallery. And to get square thumbs
you have to set "use square thumbs".
All other so called thumbnails are just the actual photo cropped to the center with no zoom. Even a "Thumbnail"
style gallery does this. All folders use this also, not real thumbnails.

Sorry Allen, That went past a little fast. When you say "Cropped to the center with no zoom" is that just another way of saying "shrink to fit"? or are you saying it crops a certain % out of the middle this loosing the edges? Sorry to be so dense.

This probably only applies to a grid format/style, landscape and portrait should use whole photo.
