One more to show. It is a shame the owners were on the other side of the window.

This one won best in show out of about 100 cars.

Comments and Criticism always welcome.

Nice work, Phil. I like your approach to shooting cars.thumb.gif

I'll pass along a tip when shooting car shows. Sometimes the placards, like 'Tin Knocker' here in this case, warrant leaving them in the shot....most of the time, though, they are a distraction. I've found that most owners/exhibitors don't mind you moving the thing temporarily if you'll just ask them. They all love to talk about their car and are usually eager to accommodate a courteous shooter. I must have developed a real pleading approach.....I have great success in even getting them to lower hoods and trunks on many occasions.

    Keep up the good work,

    Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

I will ask them to move and close stuff next time.

I can second the thought about their willingness to talk. I enjoyed the discussions almost as much as the photography.

Part of my approach is to sit down on the ground to get a good angle. I also used spot meter often to get the light solely on the car, and sometimes on camera fill (not Phil) TTL flash.

    Thank You!

This one took a fair amount more time to isolate parts of the background and convert to B&W. I just noticed one spot to fix.

Nice shot Phil and love the processing. I actually like the owners in the background.
