Well, freezing-ass cold would be more accurately descriptive. There are more rivers and creeks in Yellowstone than you can count. This happens to be a stretch of the Firehole river. I wanted to get a unique perspective, so....into the water I went.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

    Well Pard,

That's what we fly fishermen refer to as a "calling"

BTW, they've just invented a new thing you might be interested in.

    They call them waders rolleyes1.gif

You photographers will do anything for a good shot...

For you Florida folks.............freezing is when the water stops flowing and you can walk on it. :D

That " calling " thing must be a universal language, Pard. I wouldn't know which end of a fly rod to hold, yet I clearly heard soft voices in the wind. Man....I better check on what that was in my pipe.

    See you,

Great reminder there, Sam. There seems to be some scientific evidence, however, that the human butt...particularly of someone under stress... will freeze before the surrounding water will freeze. Therefore, I contend that all my squealing while in the water was justified. Besides, Darlene assured me that nobody heard me.

True story. The cold must have really rattled me. I never thought of your suggestion.

    Thanks for your support,

I also love the river bed. Catching it right was probably the main reason I jumped into the water to get this perspective. Walking on those rocks, though, was a real chore. I was lucky to get away without a total dunking.
