Was there last week on another great Muench Workshops trip. Traveling with Marc and Andy is like shooting fish in a barrel :wink

    Saw it from my home monitor for first time.....and all I want to say is i want to find this barrel!

    Did you guys have to hike to get this? How much? Where is this place? Never heard of this mountain before. Thanks!

    We stayed at the Assiniboine Lodge: http://www.assiniboinelodge.com - the only way in there is via helicopter, or via an 18 mile hike. We took the easy way in :-)

    From there it's a short hike - maybe 1.5 miles, 800 vertical feet - to this hilltop called "the niblet," and that's where the shot is from. From the picture on the lodge's page, it looks like they're fond of the same location :D

    Highly recommended spot. It's gorgeous in every way. I'm of course partial to mid-September because that's when all the larch trees turn and lose their needles (yes, there is such a thing as a deciduous conifer!)
