Thumbnail titles.

Is there any way of keeping titles on thumbnails rather than just when you 'mouse over' them.
Mainly referring to gallery styles other than smugmug.
It would be a lot easier to find a photo or video if the title could be left displayed.
Also I hold a basic account too if this changes the outcome!

I don't know if these options are available to the lowest account level - I assume that they are because these are folder / gallery settings.

Do you have the ability to set the info style on your folders / galleries? If you do you should be set. If you don't see these options you may need to upgrade to a power account (but check with the helpdesk to be sure - http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/emails/new).

• Open a folder or gallery.
• Customize... Customize site
• Hover over the folders box
• Click the wrench icon
• Click the display tab
• Set the info style to bottom bar to have the names shown as a bar on the bottom of the photos
• Done
• Hover over the galleries box
• Click the wrench icon
• Click the display tab
• Set the info style to bottom bar to have the names shown as a bar on the bottom of the photos

Ah, I just realized I gave you the instructions for a folder but not for a gallery.

You can do the same thing for galleries - open gallery, hover, click wrench, select the gallery style, change the display.

But I believe in this case the bottom bar setting only shows on hover. If you want the title to show all of the time you will need to set the Info Style to Under.

Thanks for the info Denise, looks like I would need to upgrade my account just to have a title on the thumbnails!
I'm starting to dislike the smugmug update, too many features were free and now cost $$, makes it hard to stay loyal really.
