    What do you plan to shoot and do with the tripod? I haven't any expertise with tripods, but I just got one so maybe I can help or get you pointed in the right direction. Do you have a budget? How much weight are you looking to support? Tripods can cost as much as a camera ... but then you're asking about advice I imagine a thousand dollar tripod and head isn't what you're asking about. Hopefully someone with more expertise will jump in here also.
