A Few from RMNP
Made our annual trip to Rocky Mountain National Park (we go up more than once a year, but the first Saturday of every October is our tradition) to capture some images of the elk in the rut and whatever else catches my eye.
Before we entered the park we caught this bull sleeping in the midday shade.
Later in the afternoon we made our way to the Morraine Park where it seems most the elk had congregated. Was able to catch this bull in mid-bugle.
Earlier in the day we made our trip up to the Alpine visitor center at the top of Trail Ridge Road. We always stop off at Rainbow Curve where my son enjoys all the chipmunks.
On the way home as the sun had already set, this massive bull was just outside of Estes Park and I couldn't not take the picture. I had to push my ISO to 1600 on my 60D to get a decent enough shutter speed. It's a little soft I think, but his rack was impressive.
