1001 Errors

Since this morning (european time), I'm getting 1001 Errors from Cloudflare

Error 1001 Ray ID: 176067b5beaa00df

DNS resolution error

On both my sites if I try to access via the custom domain name.
It's not always, but about 70% of the time.

www.steendorp.info and www.steendorp.com have the problem from time to time.
gspep.smugmug.com and steendorp.smugmug.com work fine, but after clicking a category or gallery the site wants to go back to the custom domain name and gets the 1001 error.

Anyone else having this problem? ... and can this be solved please?

    Same problem here:
    Error 1001 Ray ID: 1761af016ce700df

    DNS resolution error

    What happened?

You've requested a page on a website (www.ibspangolsen.dk) that is on the CloudFlare network. CloudFlare is currently unable to resolve your requested domain (www.ibspangolsen.dk). There are two potential causes of this:
    • Most likely: if the owner just signed up for CloudFlare it can take a few minutes for the website's information to be distributed to our global network.
    • Less likely: something is wrong with this site's configuration. Usually this happens when accounts have been signed up with a partner organization (e.g., a hosting provider) and the provider's DNS fails.

All the domains work fine for me and running I'm not seeing any issues. Can you try flushing your DNS cache if you're still seeing an issue to see if that helps? For instructions on doing that, check out this page.

If you still have an issue, could you email us on the HelpDesk so we could troubleshoot this further?

    Hi Sebastian,

Everything seems to be working fine now (PC at home). But I'm under the impression that everything is loading slower as usual.

I will try to check on my PC at work tomorrow morning also.

Problem keeps coming back. Even after flushing the DNS cache.

It's not always. About 30 to 40% of the times I try to access a site. When I'm already on the site and click one of the thumbnails.
The site is also loading considerably slower than a few days ago.

    Tested it on several computers:
    - PC, laptop and tablet (Samsung) at home.
    - PC , laptop and tablet (Ipad) at my brother's place
    - Several PC's at work

    It's getting worse !!!

Friends are reporting they can not access my site, or see my pictures (from Facebook and other forums). They are also getting the "Error 1001".

On this forum (and on others), a lot of pictures (not only mine) are not showing in the threads. (For example the Alfabet thread and the Photo Assosiation thread). This started today. It was not yet a problem yesterday.

I'm only an amateur, but I can imagine professional photographers would not be happy if their customers can not access their sites.

    Same here !
Removing the www works, but only for each page separately.
Anyone working on it at Smugmug ?

Yes, they are. It seems they already received several helpdesk tickets about this issue.

Hi all, thanks for continuing to follow up on this. Please let me know if you've been seeing any problems or slowness since 08:00 Pacific Time today (10/9). If you have, let me know the "Ray ID" that gets reported by the error page.
I work at SmugMug but these opinions are usually my own.

I've been trying for at least 15 minutes now. Going from one site to another. No error messages showing.
Earlier today I would get an error message within two or three attempts.
(Last time I got an error message is already more than 3 hours ago)

Speed also seems to be back.

I will keep an eye on it. If the error messages come back I'll post the "Ray ID" as requested.

Already thanks for whatever you guys did !
