Does anyone have experience with Komodo Drop as a 3rd party uploader to 'new' Smugmug? Thanks for any input.

Looking at the last posts of the DGrin thread for it, there's a report that it doesn't work on the New SmugMug. And looking at the page from the developer, there's been no update since those posts were made so it likely won't work on the New SmugMug.

Thanks for response. Is there any 3rd party uploader that works and synchronizes?

Maybe someone else can chime in on that as I haven't really used any of the third party uploaders. For me, uploading via the browser is good enough and then there's also the SmugMug Lightroom plugin which is very popular as it allows easy managing of content on SmugMug and uploading directly from within Lightroom.

That said, at this point in time most third party tools likely have no proper support of the New SmugMug yet as the new API version of SmugMug is still something that is being worked on.

Appreciate your info. Agree that SM uploader works fine and easy to use too; and LR plugin does too. Just curious as I used Star Explorerer in the past but not available anymore. Thanks, Al

StarExplorer (hi Nik!) is great and I used it a lot many years ago. Judging from the StarExplorer site, Nik's still hard at work on getting a new version that supports the New SmugMug up and running as there's already a public beta for the uploading part of it. It may still be some time before a fully functional version is out, but once it's there, I'm sure it will be worth the wait. :)

    Morning,

Just want to add my small piece. I used StarExplorer a lot in old SmugMug. But when it didn't work with new SmugMug I started to look for another solution. First I used SMs own uploader and it is fine. However I did find an excellent alternative in PSU (see http://www.idimager.com/WP/?page_id=20 for details). I have been using PSU for many years to manage my photo collection and find it excellent. And the good news was that PSU can easily upload to new SmugMug.

I don't think that PSU is the right uploader if you don't already use it to manage your collection of photos, like I do. But if you are a PSU and Smugmug user then this is a very good combinaton.

    Best regards, Harald
