Images from the Grand Tetons and other places in Wyoming. Peak color in the Tetons came on about a week early this year.

    Great work, Phil. thumb.gif

My trips to Yellowstone have been limited to the early Summer. Your recent posts have convinced me to plan on an early Fall trip in the future.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Great shots Phil. #3 is the one for me. Schwabacher Landing? Love the comp and color in #2.... maybe a little cropping along the bottom of the image? - IMO

Thanks. End of September first of Oct is usaully a good time of year. color is peaking, elk are in rut and bugling, and most kids are in school (less people in the park) and you can also head south to catch the color in the Tetons.

Thanks Len. #3 is Schwabacher, a great place to shot almost any time of day. I agree that #2 is due a crop of the bottom.

    #3 does it for me.

The angled POV, soft curved leading lines of the water up the mountain, the mountain/horizon placement, reflections in the water and treatment of lighting/color are all excellent!

They're all terrific. I'm particularly fond of the second one, even though my brain would tell me to avoid a shot where a prominent feature is in shadow. So much for rules.

All of those are photos are very majestic. The only time I've been through there the light was not that cooperative.

Thanks. I have been through the area several times and the light was most cooperative on this trip.
