I have been renting it for a while to shoot sports and decided it was time to bring one home for keeps.

I had an hour of sunlight after the UPS man dropped it off, so I ran out and made these:

And a few more here: http://trishtunney.smugmug.com/gallery/1076700/1/50007694

I am so excited! It not even as heavy as I remember.

Next time out, I'm going to bring a tripod, though.

cheers!
Trish

Nice Trish, reminds me of my apartment building.

I've had my 70-200 for a while now and I'm still impressed with what it can do. Has to be one of the best lenses ever.

For mine, I bought a Really Right Stuff quick release foot that replaces the Nikon one. Makes using a tripod really easy.

    Thanks guys!
    Thanks guys!

And thanks for the tip, David.

I wasn't sure what I was going to do to get this lens on my tripod. For now, I was attaching my camera plate to the bottom of the lens. Kind of janky, but in a pinch...

I like the idea of a replacement foot better than attaching another plate to the bottom.

Looks like Kirk makes a replacement foot too.

    cheers!

    Thanks Rob!

Here are a couple more building shots where I was fooling with exposure settings.

The location was a cool spot I found by chance while looking for a place where the sun wasn't obscured by buildings in its last hour. I'll definitely be heading back for a proper shoot.

    cheers!
