Beach Sunset
These were shot with a D700/85 1.8 and fuji x100s. I had envisioned how I was going to shoot this but my flash decided to go swimming before the the first shutter press so it was too tired to do anything more after the dunk. She has sensitive eyes so it was mostly backlit. I probably pushed the limits of highlight and shadow recovery too much but it was a good exercise in adapting to what I had. These were some of her favorites.

Again, to those who are B&W conversion fanatics (like myself) Alien Skin Exposure is THE tool: http://www.alienskin.com/exposure/
No, I don't get paid by them, I just used it since 2006 in most prints.
The series is well conceived. I think the only downside is the rather static facial expression. She needs to be talked through the shoot, or even better -- she needs to talk, ask her to tell you a story. I had a similar problem last Friday; I handled it poorly, and most of the photos are not cool at all.

We may have one more collaborative effort this week so I'll try to get at least a smirk out of her for the shoot.
