I went to P.R. for a weekend to be at my cousin's wedding. Didn't really have time to shoot around San Juan but I managed to get this one off the balcony of the hotel where we had the reception. I'm just sorry I couldn't stay longer. This is a great time of the year to visit the island. I didn't have a tripod so this was handheld. The high ISO noise performance of the Canon 20D continues to impress me! Comments welcomed.

Great shot. I love PR. We were there a couple years back in January. Stayed in Ponce and San Juan. I'd like to go back. Here's a shot looking towards your shot from the other side of San Juan. This is a shot from the roof of the B&B we stayed at, taken with my old Olympus C3020. I want to go back with my 20D.

ah - cool shot and excellent hand-holding job. I didn't make it to the docks at night. I would have liked to have something like this.

Night Sky colors are really nice with the 20D. I really like the contrast between cloud and open sky in your photo, its something I never woud have considered shooting before I got my 20D. Check out this night shot of the Brooklyn Bridge:

Thanks Vandana. Here's a link to the EXIF: http://hbphoto.smugmug.com/photos/newexif.mg?ImageID=50139520

It was actually shot at ISO 800 1/5 sec @ f/4. Probably could have bumped to ISO 1600 and still get a good shot. Just haven't gotten used to how good this camera is.

Great shot for it being HH and bumping up the ISO. What ISO did you shoot the first photo at? Any PP that you did to it? Thanks for sharing!

I shot the first one at ISO 800 in RAW.

I processed the data with DxO Optics Pro (check it out at www.dxo.com). The software compensates for lens aberrations/distortions and has noise reduction processing as well. Output in JPG.

Slight contrast adjustment and cropping in Photoshop. Save JPG at Quality=10.

I like the results from DxO...but I don't like using the SW. I wish they made a plug-in for ACR, I'd buy that. Heck, they talk about putting the SW in cameras...how hard would a plug-in be?

Everyone should check out the demo, though, for sure. Pretty impressive results.

Our own lynnesite is an Image Master. She's not listed on this page, for some reason, but believe me, she is!

I know what you mean...the workflow is a bit cumbersome but I've found v3.5 is much better than 3.0 which was very clunky. I used to save to Adobe DNG and then use ACR to bring into Photoshop because I like ACR's exposure controls better. But v3.5 is pretty good and now I use that for exposure control and coversion to JPG's.

Now if DxO had a speedy interface like Canon's Digital Photo Professional then we would be in business.... Then again, having an on-camera functionality would be amazing.

I just don't see DxO going to a plug-in. They are so dependent on ZERO manipulations off the camera.
