Leslie at the Beach
Fortunately we are still getting warm enough weather for beach shots. Leslie is a mom of 3 and agency represented. She wanted some beach pics before the weather gets too cold. All shots with a D3s and 85 1.8.

An "accurate" reproduction of a scene and a good photograph are often two different things.
Thanks, and she is actually a mother of 4.

Two is gorgeous but I'd like to have her head turned the other way so the light is even to match her torso. But it is a gorgeous shot.
#s 5 & 6 almost killed me half to death.

I want to like 1 but I think the flare is just a bit too strong in the face and then not enough on the lower part of the photo. 2 the lighting, pose and expression aren't up to snuff compared to work you've posted. The rest are good, just not great like some of your other work.

Thanks, I am torn on both of those as well but she picked these as some of her favorites. I like the mood of 1, and 2 is one I would like to improve on. She had trouble with the wind and the sun on her eyes so I was trying to find little pockets of shade that protected her eyes. It didn't quite work but I think for future headshots finding places that I can use natural spotlights will be good.
Thanks, we were going for a commercial look as her agency wanted some lifestyle shots.
Thanks, I agree on 2, and would have done differently, but I do think it is a good body shot for her.
Thanks!
