Well today was supposed to be sun with clouds. But that was surely not the case, mostly cloudy out there and stayed around as there was a few Hooded Mergansers area. Managed to get a shot of this Hooded Merganser in Flight.

Unique and beautiful Dennis! Maybe its monitor differences, but I keep hoping for tad brighter!

    Cheers!

Very nice capture Dennis! Nice and sharp and great background.

Thanks Hunter. It sure was not the best lighting conditions but it worked out for me.

Well I know it looks good on my displays at home. My concern if I make it brighter that it would blow out the background to much on the right side. I'll try another image with it a bit brighter and see what happens.

Try soft grad filter. You can first get the main subject to brightness level you want. When the top right side blows up, put the filter to bring it down by the amount you incremented overall brightness. You could also try just bringing up shadows.....top right side should not be affected by that slider.

Nice shot as is though! But we push for every little bit more!

    Cheers!

Thanks for the information and will give that a try. I have been playing around with the image and sort of on the lines that you mentioned. Will try you suggestion and see what happens with the results.
