This is the second fall around that this family hires me.
The kids are adorable (no better word to describe them). The tree in the portraits is a "tradition shot" for them now.
I really like your framing and use of the tree in 2 and 3! (The rest are good too, of course, I just forget often to use environmental elements to help with framing sometimes lol)
These are very good! I particularly like 5, 6 and 8. The expression you caught in 7 is really fun. Another great shot, potentially, is #1...but I agree that the barn needs a bit more saturation. It is such a cool location (I would think that could have great potential for an "every year" shot), I'd love to see it pop more. Job well done!
On those splotches, there are several really nice oval reflectors you can get to block the overhead light. The 4x6 ovals work great. The ones that are springie around the perimeter and fold up into a 12x12ish. You could set the camera on timer and hold it yourself if you don't have an assistant.

Kind of gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling. That's a good thing in my book.

An "accurate" reproduction of a scene and a good photograph are often two different things.

Charles, I know, the blotches ruined a few shots for me. I didn't pay enough attention, sadly
I was so worried about popping the barn too much. It is already quite saturated
