It saddens me to no end to be the bearer of this message...
Yuri Pautov (Юрий Паутов) died yesterday, Thursday October 30 2014, five in the morning. Cancer.
RIP.

    Oh my. What an incredible person and one who had several amazing talents -- working well with people and portrait photography were just two of them. Very sad. Thanks, Nikolai.

    Does anyone have an email or snail mail address for his family? We could all show that he will be missed by more than those in his own country but by people far and wide.

    I think I first ran into Yuri's work on DPReview forums more than ten years ago.
