Some recent damp macros. All have been focus stacked using zerene.

Five stars. #3 really grabs my attention - contrast, texture, DOF (of course) and lightning.

I understand focus stacking, I believe, for your many outstanding bug shots, but not sure I follow how that works with shots like #3? If you would please, explain how the setup and how it was executed?

    Thanks

Thanks for the commentsSB,Jo and Phil - appreciated :)

Phil- was using my standard 5Dmk2/MPE-65/430Ex flash rig - see shot below
I was handholding the camera resting my left hand on the car and the camera lens on my left hand. To get the effect I want with the light etc I need to shoot the dew at an angle of about 30' hence the need to focus stack to get a reasonable amount in focus. I just move the camera forward on my hand to take the focus slices.

Thanks much for your detailed explanation. Excellent work.

When I see macro shots taken by my camera club members, I often mentally image shots from the macro shooters in this forum as the standard for comparison.

    Thanks you, Phil
