High ISO birds:
Spotted 2 Pied Wagtails (and one other interested party) around the local watering hole (that is, the big potholes in the street outside of the house!)
The afternoon had gone very dull, rain was on its way and the wind was starting to get up a bit more. The light was poor so I put the 70D into Auto ISO, dialled in Av to F/6.3 and let the camera do the rest.
The resulting images have no noise reduction done on them at all, nor I have I sharpened them up much - just for resizing for the web, but I may re-edit later using NR software and some high pass sharpening to see how much more can be teased out.
All taken hand-held with the Sigma 150-500 OS HSM, at F/6.3, but I have also put the shutter speed and ISO above the images showing the different exposures for reference.
1/800 sec, f/6.3, ISO 1600
1/800 sec, f/6.3, ISO 2000
1/640 sec, f/6.3, ISO 2000
1/800 sec, f/6.3, ISO 3200
1/640 sec, f/6.3, ISO 3200
1/800 sec, f/6.3, ISO 2000
1/640 sec, f/6.3, ISO 3200

Cheers Dennis - they are quite plain in the bird world but they do have their own appeal.

I agree with you there, and that is something that I like about this bird.

Did kitty make its move?:D

Yes - that cat did come closer, but the birds took flight long before it got too close..
