Hi there,

I am at the office working for my PhD (currently doing a break) and I found a series of shots I have prepared and I forgot to share with you.

This set was shot during my short trip to Zurich to see my best friend. In this trip I took with me our little monster, so to allow my wife to breath for two days back home.

We did not have time and we had to rush it when the little angel was sleeping. I do not have an external flash since my camera does not have a hotshoe (that would be fixed soon though) and thus I had to really purely on available light.

I have two comments to do for this set but I want first to hear your reaction and then I would comment back.

Regards Alex

She is a beauty and you have captured her well.

He looks best when he is not trying too hard to smile. #4 is the best of the two of them but I would clone out the half cut off alligator which is distracting. His uneasy and forced smile in the rest of these ruin them for me.

Hi thanks a lot for the answers. I think we pretty much agree. As I did not got any more comments I think I have to pressume that the rest people just did not find them intresting enough to comment.
The feedback I have promised earlier on what I see.

1.Since I do not have a fill light I have problem with the eyey (okay one has to expect that...) I tried opening the eyes only in post processing but then I found that my eye area processing is very poor. If you go back to my shots and have a look at eyes you will see that they are a bit "nervous"

    2. The biggest problem still is not the 1, What I see in the shots is that they look quite tense full of anxiety. The first form of anxiety was me "Would we take enough shots before the young lady wakes up?" (we could only shoot when she was sleeping in the stroller/pushchair(uk). The other form of anxiety was the couple itself... They were both looking for a job and part of this anxiety was somehow also present during the shooting...

I think I have to improve a lot for the first and later on see what I can do for the second.

    Thanks for your time
    Alex

I think the tension you are seeing is the fact they are tense when posing and pushing the smile and the pose is not natural. The ones they are more natural in are the best. The first one with her glasses on is very nice and warmer then the second one too. That changes the feeling of the shot as well.
