New guy here with first pic post...

Hey everyone,

I'm pretty new here on dgrin, but not new to photography. Been shooting for about 10 years, but have been off the forums for a while. Registered recently while having issues with updating my new smugmug site and got some great information without even asking a question. You guys/gals rock!!

In any event, an old friend from another forum asked that I post some recent work and I figured I would do it now before I forgot about it... I shoot a little bit any/everything involving people - wedding, events, portraits, if there are people there, I'll shoot it. LOL I also work at Rutgers and do some freelance work for one of the medical schools there...

Anyway, here are a few examples... Would love to hear opinions, feedback whether positive or negative as it all helps. Hope you enjoy looking.

Thank you Jack, that's my son. He's a pretty special kid. That pic is actually old, but still one of my favorite images of him. Thanks for the suggestion, I edited my original post with numbers.

My kids are all grown since you've seen them. My youngest got carried away on Halloween this year.

Thanks Mitch!! WOW - I remember the natural light/reflector portraits of your kids in the driveway!! Love this shot!!! I remember her as a baby!! :-) Time is really flying!

Thank you Ian. I find that I've taken the best photos of my son when we're home alone with no distractions from "that lady that lives in the house with us..."

#2 was my of my best friend's wedding...another recent favorite image of mine.

All of the portraits are very good. But I love the fact that you are reflected in your son's eyes in that wonderful #3 image. And you are right - your wife is stunning - and the portrait projects an inner peace and strength.

Thanks so much Jo!!! You know, I never noticed my reflection in my son's eyes!!! Good catch!! Next to our mothers, my wife is the strongest person I know. Thank you for the kind words!

Take a close look at your son's eyes for your reflection.

I had the same self portrait when I took a photo of my daughter after she lost a tooth years ago.

Thanks Mitch!! I have to pay closer attention to small things like reflections in the eyes. I feel like that pic of your daughter was yesterday, how old is she now?? Time is definitely flying!!

Thanks! While I can't promise I will post often, I will share occasionally. What's a pullback?? Been out of the loop so long, I have no idea what that is...
