IMG_2031.jpg

My son is studying engineering at Cal Poly Pomona. I made this photo while he was giving us a tour of the campus.

Canon 20D, Canon 17-40mm "L" @ 19mm
1/500, f/8, Iso 200

Converted to B&W and cropped in PSCS
Also added a little soft focus.

Thanks for looking!

I like this shot. The soft focus gives it a sort of etheral quality.

Perhaps a bit more contrast would help?

    my alma mater...
cool picture of a cool building. Is that the new science bldg? I left (I'm not telling how long ago mwink.gif) before it was built, but have been back several times visiting.

Is your son enjoying his program there? I really liked the relatively small classes with the chance to get to know your profs that I had while studying there.

I like the lines and composition. I am not so sure about the softness. I like it b/c it is completely against the grain of what I am use to seeing so therefore I like it but, It would be really cool to see it nice and crisp and sharp.

Thanks, I tried to add more contrast....but it just blows out the sky even with as little as +5.

i like this shot. and the softness and B&W work for it becasue it makes your eyes pay attention to the designs of the rails and stairs. its a picture that makes you think. only comment is maybe clone out the corner of rail in the bottom right in that black area. it would also help ad more center of interest.thumb.gif '
