The Uninvited...

Everyone who has pet dogs and cats has been there...
However, whether this is a guest of our cat from in the house, or was a guest collected form my rummaging at ground level in the dark hunting bugs, is unknown.
It is however, most definitely an uninvited guest.
Meet the flea, which I spotted on my finger, and I managed 3 reasonable shots (not easy to photograph your finger you know!).
First as it started feeding, the second as it had quite clearly had some (see the leg) and lastly after it had now taken enough from one piercing of my skin, and where you can see my blood "left behind undigested blood" behind it...
I'm all itchy now!

Dog and cat fleas are indistinguishable, except at high magnification.
Your movement probably triggered it to hatch, which happens in a fraction of a second, to jump onto a passing host. Remember your manners and be a good host!

One should never overlook the opportunity Brian, lol...
I was an excellent host - as reward, the flea was given a free underwater cruise via the city sewers to the ocean...
