These were taken with a fuji x100s and AlienBee800 with and without an umbrella. These are from thumbnails so the metadata is tripped. I think most were shot at f2.

    You really make that X100S sing. I have one and I wouldn't think to use it for serious portraits, rather than my 5D3. Do you do anything to correct distortion on closeups like #2? I've tried a few closeup portraits of my kids and I usually don't like the distortion at that distance.

    An "accurate" reproduction of a scene and a good photograph are often two different things.

    Thanks! For 2 I get back and then crop closer as the 16mp sensor give me room to crop. I am thinking of the 1.4 TC to give me 50mm equivalent for portrait work. I'm finding more and more people are wanting the lighted look outdoors and the way x100s can control natural light is the camera to use. You can't simulate the compression of the long zooms but for me at least there is more connection with the subject using the 35 mm equivalent.
