Lightroom - Set Featured Image

Lightroom appears to have an option to set the cover photo. I assume this should set the featured image for the gallery, but when I select the cover photo, the gallery still defaults to using the first photo in the gallery as the featured image. Am I doing something wrong?

    G'day Chris,

This feature currently only works with Adobe's LR mobile product, as they haven't made it accessible publicly via their SDK.

Our plugin has a way to do this...
    1. Create a gallery within LR
    2. Added some images.
    3. Right click the gallery and select "Edit Gallery..."
    4. Click the box indicate in the dialog below...
    Edit-Gallery-and-Lightroom-5-Catalog.lrcat---Adobe-Photoshop-Lightroom---Library.png
    5. Select the thumb you want (note: that they can be published or unpublished)

Note: if you select an unpublished photo, it will be set as the feature photo as soon as that photo has been published
