Hi all,
I had just completed adding detailed "downloading and buying help" instructions on my site in
the "DIGITAL DOWNLOADS/BUYING HELP" Page and i have now just been been presented
with this NEW shopping cart that I have not been able to locate any Setup or Operating
guides for.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

To exclude print sizes that require cropping you would need to disable those sizes in your price list. I am not aware of another way to remove print sizes. Of course this will be problematic if you have photos in different aspect ratios in your galleries. Short of preventing images that need cropping from being purchased the only way I know of to handle them is to set proof delay and deal with any issues during that time period.

Perhaps I should take a couple of steps back and explain in detail my recent history.
Firstly i really do not want my images cropped nor do i want the buyer to be be burdened with the cropping procedure i just want to have image sizes listed that dont require cropping without
I was able to successfully achieve this goal with my "Pro" account in the "Old cart" by listing images exactly only in three format ratios ie 1/1.5, 1/2 And 1/3.
I then constructed 3 separate appropriate price lists and deleted from those lists all image sizes and and special product sizes that required cropping.
Next step was to combine the 3 lists into one price list and select it as the ACTIVE price list.
Finally all that the buyer needed to do WAS TO UNCHECK "REQUIRE CROPPING" this worked fine.
So i guess the Question is....How To Uncheck or Remove "Require Cropping" in the NEW Cart.

I see that you have a Portfolio level account with SmugMug. At that account level, you can only have one pricelist (default) that will be applied across your while site. Currently, your 2.0-1 pricelist is the default list on your site. If you wish to have multiple pricelists applied to your site (either to whole galleries or individual images) you will need to upgrade to the Business level account.

Once upgraded, you can apply your pricelists from within the gallery itself. Just click "Customize" > "Set Prices" and select the pricelist that you want to apply. There will be dropdown menus available for both whole gallery pricing as well as individual image pricing.
Let us know if you need any further assistance with this along the way.

To expand on Oliver's response: I think we lost the ability to have the user hide items that require cropping. I get around this by using multiple pricelists, kind of like how you setup the 3 pricelists for the various crop ratio's. Depending upon the crop ratio of the photo I then apply that pricelist to the photo (via "Set Prices"). Unfortunately you'll need to have multiple pricelists to make this happen, which would require upgrading to a Business plan.
Let me get back to you and see if there's a better way to do this with your current plan.

Hi leftquark I have now received this specific answer from the help desk :-
( " The feature to check to require cropping is not in the new shopping cart. Once the size is selected, hovering over the size will show if the image will be cropped. "
Sorry we don't have a better answer for you.
Let us know if you have any additional questions and have a good evening.

OK. So it is now confirmed that the option to exclude image sizes that require cropping, in the New Cart, are not included....Even though it was in the Old Cart!!! ( at Portfolio Level ).
Hmmm.. That dose seem like a backward step to me, granted the cropping feature in the New Cart
is an improvement but then why drop a feature that even further simplifies and enhances a buyers experience ?
As doubling my $ cost by going up to "Business Class" is not an option I guess i will have to wait and hope that member pressure convinces SmugMug to reinstate this feature at Portfolio level in the New Cart or that you or some other generous knowledgeable person will develop a work around for us all.
Thanks to " lefquark " and all of you who have taken the time to contribute to this thread.

We agree that this option needs to be brought back but the Add to Cart process is not the way. Customers shouldn't have the option to select the button -- it's confusing and they don't know what to do. It should be done somewhere else, like in your pricelists, where you can set it to only show sizes that don't require cropping. It's something we'd love to do at some point.

High Leftquark,
Yes please bring it back, any way you can, to Portfolio level.
I do agree with you that controlling this option in the Price List setup would be by far
the best BUYER outcome.
