Is SEO affected if you hide your keywords?

For some reason, I can't find the SEO thread.

Hidden text is something that is explicitly mentioned in Google's webmaster guidelines - https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/66353?hl=en.

I would think you need to weigh the hidden (keyword) text against other factors though. Presence of titles and captions is important. With those present and keywords hidden, not sure of the results.

Hmmmm. I do use titles and captions for 90% of my photos. It's the journalist in me. As for the keywords, I'll remove the CSS and see how that helps.
