Pileated Woodpeckers
I was very happy to run across this couple and was even able to get the pair in several frames. It was in the swamp and very shady, tough shooting situation, I had to take a lot of shots to get these.

Jack
(My real name is John but Jack'll do)
Hi Jack,
The crest is basically the same shape. They can move up and down. The males crest will be red all the way to the bill and he'll have red on the stripe from the bill on the side of the face. The female's crest will be black at the base of the bill and the stripe on the side of her face will be black. #6 if you look you can see the difference. The male is on the top of the branch.
