Two lifers today
I finally got a American Bittern. This darn bird did not want to come out in the open for me. It's a lifer so I had to keep these shots.
On the way home today I stopped at McDonald's to get something to eat. I noticed some parrot like birds flying low and seemed to head to some trees on the other side of McD's. I drove to the other side and got out of the car to listen and sure enough I could here them in a tree next to the Drive Thru. I'm sure everyone in the Drive Thru was wondering what the heck I was doing.
Nanday Conure, aka Nanday Parakeets.
They were eating some type of nut in the tree, similar to an acorn

Nicely done, I like the 'environmental' aspect of the bittern shots, especially for what is (around here at least) an elusive bird. There's one at Bolsa Chica wetlands right now, but I haven't been able to get a good shot.
