Saw Pheasants for first time in my life in Tulelake, CA, but they were way too shy and would not let me come near them. I found some Hawks though that were bolder than usual!:barb

All criticism and kind comments are heartily cherished! Below is what I cam up with.

Gorgeous. 6 & 7 are amazing with the background and the light on the seeds. The 2nd black and white works the best for the me, it's very dramatic, the others, I admit I miss seeing the eye color.

Thanks JC! The last shot shows icicles on the wire and pole.....it was pretty foggy and damp.....but clear enough for shot at short distance.......so color didn't pop....
I have noticed that in bad light birds seem to mellow out...this one wouldn't take off on me...when most Hawks get nervous and take off in seconds....so I gained proximity at cost of light!:D

They are all wonderful. I agree with JC - #6 and 7 are outstanding. I do like #1 BW - I smiled immediately when I saw that one.
    So I'm curious, the Hawk in #5 - was he/she cross-eyed?

Thanks Jo! It does look cross eyed doesn't it? I like the look they give that says, "Are you serious? You know I am working here. I have to find rodents to eat. I don't go to a Hawk restaurant"!rolleyes1.gif

It does kind of look like it, but I doubt it.

I know a hawk with crossed eyes would have no depth perception due to the crossed eyes. I also suspect a hawk without depth perception would not survive aerial flight very long either.

I really like 6 and 7 too, especially #7. Lovely light. I might clone out that tiny yellow strand of grass popping out of the birds dorsal surface. Maybe..

You've been busy, and successful gathering wildlife images.

Really enjoy the Blue Heron pics. Some of my favorite birds. Good series overall.
