    Nice composition and interesting subjects. I'd lower the white point in #1 some to give it a bit more brightness and contrast. A square crop anchored at the bottom left would work well on #2. It's nice as is, but I would like it more if the people were more prominent.

    Yes I'm sometimes torn in this type of shooting.
    Up close is great but including the surroundings is also great.
    I feel that #1 does find a balance between those points quite nicely as is.
