A small cicada in a meadow in Greece

In 2012 my wife and I visited the Zagori region of northern Greece. Quite high up in this mountainous region there was an area of heath-like long grass and sparse scrub.
I believe this to be Cicadetta argentata .
I expect cicadas to be up in the trees, singing, after dark on a warm evening. This one, of several heard, was on low vegetation (where they rest when freshly-emerged) in hot sunshine. It made a shrill sound, which it did not stop at my approach, and was easy to locate. It was 1cm or so long.
Olympus E-P2, Leitz Elmarit 60mm macro, probably f8, 1/80 ISO 100 hand-held.
Slightly cropped for composition.

The book issue can be daunting:

Of the above, my list is a couple of years out of date:

It is easy for anyone to misidentify from a book or website, even more so for the novice. That, said, you can learn a lot from such books, not least where, and when, to look for subjects.
If I recall correctly, I had (legacy manual) flash with me for the trip but never used it. This was in bright sunlight, possibly diffused by surrounding vegetation.

Thanks! I will bookmark those!
Remember that, overall, there is a deliberate UK and/or European bias in my list. The FAQ should otherwise have more of use in the USA but you need to check individual items.
