This is my 5 year old nephew. I took this at a family BBQ, love to hear what you all think.

It's a great B&W conversion and I really like the grainy look. Some might object but I like the high-contrast in the shot. Good job!

great shot and your nephew looks to be a great subject for years to come-

personally would like to see the eyes just a little more and the background and shirt darkened some-

Thanks Erich. I tried to process it the same way (if you know what I mean) as I would if it were film. Thats why I left the grain and contrast the wy it was, to try and make it look like my silver gelatin prints, But I added the duo tone to warm it up a little.

I love it. Sure the eyes could be dodged just a tad but that is a nit. One of your best photos Tara!

I want one of those: freckles and all!

    Very cute kid, nicely captured.

    I like it!

I love it. Are those all his own freckles? Wow! What a cute kid.
I can't help wondering if the face would look even more haunting if the left background and shirt were darkened and the eyes brightened. Great capture.

handsome boy and a beautiful picture but I think the high contrast goes just a bit too far. Yes it's a personal taste but when you lose detail and the eyes go too dark it detracts from the quality of the photo IMHO.

    HNY! :):
