Black and White Printing

Like a lot of members on this site I developed my craft using film, enlargers, trays, tanks and chemicals. I still have a problem with the quality of black and white prints using a inkjet printer. I have a high end canon printer and have used various grades of paper to produce prints however they just don't compare with black and white prints produced with the use of chemicals in a tank. Your thoughts, anyone.
