A few winter scenes from Yellowstone, taken within the past few days.
For you EXIF peepers, the focal length on the next shot will amaze you. :deal
Yes, it's a pano using a 500mm lens. I was shooting wildlife and too lazy to switch lenses. As a result, the full size original is massive and very highly details. There's even a moose I spotted in there somewhere.
Doncha just hate it when wildlife messes up a perfectly good landscape?
Darn, happened again!
And finally, a B&W -- a rarity for me!
Comments and critiques always welcome. Thanks for looking!

Here is step by step guide......
1) You wake up full 2.5 hours before sunrise, drive through treacherous icy and unplowed roads in the dark, to get to pre-dawn spot where Moose hang out for breakfast
2) Your over-weight friend gives up due to sinking into soft power and sheer cold, about -20F, but you continue on....
3) You identify the most photogenic Moose
4) Point, aim, shoot
5) This is how you shoot a Moose
Cheers!

Stumblebum, that's pretty funny. I believe it was right after my snowshoe hike to shoot the moose that you stopped to shoot that snowy boulder in the sub-zero air which I think is one of your best shots. I on the other hand, slept in the warm car fairly exhausted. We both paid our dues out there for sure.
