Some question on new Smugmug.

I've been postponing the migration. Now I found some free time, I intend to revamp my photos for the migration to the new Smugmug. I’m also contemplating selling my images. Some questions:

1) Can I retain my existing Stat Counter and will it show up?
2) If I like the Home page design but not the subsequent page which has eg. a smugmug
viewing style, can I change the format of viewing to say Journal style or vice versa?
3) Will the current hidden photos or hidden folders remained hidden in new web?
4) I have gone thru quite substantial reading on how to sell photos but seems nothing much
mention abt shipping cost. How do I know what are the charges for shipping cost as country
varies, cause shipping cost may ultimately affect my pricing if I were to consider the overall
cost the customer is paying. Do I do a markup on shipping cost also or we can't.

Thank you.

You can change any part of the design. Choose a theme that you think is a good starting point and apply changes to it.

You specify which style is your default style for folders and your default style for galleries. The style (Journal, smugmug, etc.) can also be changed for individual folders and galleries.

As far as I know hidden images will remain hidden.

Shipping charges are not something that you can change. The only thing I am aware of in this area is that if you have a Business account you can issue a coupon for free shipping. But - I believe that means that you as the site owner will pay for the shipping.

    Thks Allen, Denise for clarifying.

Putting the coupon aside, my question remain:

    4) I have gone thru quite substantial reading on how to sell photos but seems nothing much
mention abt shipping cost. How do I know what are the charges for shipping cost as country
varies, cause shipping cost may ultimately affect my pricing if I were to consider the overall

The only way I can find to see shipping costs is to go through the process to order something with shipping to the desired country. If you do this I believe the best way to see the actual numbers is to go through this exercise when you are not logged in to your smug account (although the shipping charges should be the same).

That won't give you a true picture though since the shipping costs are based on the actual (and full) order.

I'm not sure what you mean by doing a markup on shipping - the shipping costs are smugmug's, not yours, and they are not something you can change. The only option you have is to issue a coupon to cover shipping costs; be aware if you do that the shipping costs come out of your profits. If the profits don't cover the shipping cost then you will be charged for them.

Shipping costs depend upon which lab you use for your prints, the size of each photo, the number of photos ordered, and where you are shipping to. If we were to provide this kind of documentation you'd have an extremely long and nearly impossible to create matrix of numbers. Shipping cost is determined by SmugMug and it's in addition to the price you set on the photo. Your best bet is to charge the amount you want to mark-up / earn on each of your sales. Typically you'll also have a good idea of where your customers are located (for example, since my photos are of the US, I don't typically sell a photo to someone in Antarctica) and you can use that to help estimate shipping costs.
