The storm inside me

Hi all,
below you will find some shots that somehow I "like". That does not mind that I find them exceptionally good or excellent. I just think that they have "something" that perhaps I have to work more with. I am not even why I am sharing those. There is something inside me asking me to do more....still though lost in space

Regards
Alex

“The fact is that relatively few photographers ever master their medium. Instead they allow the medium to master them and go on an endless squirrel cage chase from new lens to new paper to new developer to new gadget, never staying with one piece of equipment long enough to learn its full capacities, becoming lost in a maze of technical information that is of little or no use since they don’t know what to do with it”

I like #3 a lot. #1 has potential as a geometric study, but somehow it doesn't quite come together for me. I think I get a sense of why you found it appealing though.

Hi Richard thanks for replying me. Actually I am at the phase that I am fighting to find what I like and what not. I try to combine different things.. I feel though I lack quite of feedback and these forums are the onyl source I have. My facebook friends always get excited of what I want and I know this type of feedback can not make grow. I need the feedback that would tell me why I am still so bad...
So why do you think I like those?

For these kind of shots.....there should be a 'hook'. Something odd perhaps........or mind boggling symmetry etc. Ideally if emotions can be evoked.....hard to do....or mood can be affected then you have best kind of shots......but for these kind.....something should get attention.......

Like for #1, there is symmetry.....sort of....but a viewer may search why this shot was taken....then it may come down to some sort of symmetry and nice color juxtaposition.....that is not enough.

For #3, it is nice, but from perspective, if the dude was slightly separated from the clock tower, and checking his own watch......then you got something quirky.....

Or if a real old person was standing next to the tower, looking all fragile......then passing of 'time' hits you.....worries you....at least me....my own time might be up soon.....

Or if a train whisked by......or a bus....and tower was sharp and we saw the blur...then we think about time passing by....

Since tower is prominent, thoughts go to time.....if the dude's expression was RUSHED then event that would work.....

For most shots.....you have to visualize something interesting first....and then wait and try, till you get what you visualized.....then post it here and watching idiots like me trash it!rolleyes1.gif

Keep at it.....your other set of color explosions was marvelous!
