How to batch add layer

If I have a layer in another document that I want to add to a bunch of images in batch process how can I do that? I have had no luck in writing an action to do this. I'm about to resort to Mac's Automater to do this (and I'm not certain that can do so either).

Thanks.

What's the problem with writing an action? I don't see why that wouldn't work...

To be exact, you need to record an action on a sample file, save the action, then specify that action from Files->Automate->Batch, where you would specify the source and destination folders. You will probably want to check "override action Open Commands" and "override action Save As Commands" to get the whole thing to work properly.

    Cheers,

The problem is that you can copy a layer only by starting with the document you are copying a layer FROM. Then you have to choose a document to copy the layer to, and that document name is always different. What I need is a way to write the action based on the TO document, and choose a layer from another open document or from a document on disk.

Well, what I would do, rather than try to figure all that out is write the action to paste. Then I would open the doc I want to copy the layer from, copy it, and then run the action on a folder. Would that work?

Also, have you seen this? EDIT: Dang, the link doesn't seem to work...hang on...

Well, if that link doesn't work, try this one. Scroll down to Photoshop Automator Actions and click on more...

That probably would work, using copy and paste. Thanks!
