Howdy Gents and ladies! :)

Well in another attempt at using my splitboard in actual board mode I went out on an overnighter trip to Turnagain Pass, Alaska. It was sort of a last minute toss together on the overnighter but we were able to make it out there, although we didn't get finished setting up until it was dark. That ruled out the riding in for that day. The next day there was plenty of new fallen snow and also some nice strong gusts of wind. Turns out we had to pack it up and head back anyway (I had a class to attend) and so I went on another trip without actually using my board in board mode. heh. I think I am a pro at this!! Heres some pictures.

The Day looks nice from the car.

Comon baby LIGHT! After he got this puppy lit we had a concoction of several different types of beans, brown rice, corn, and a bottle of blended spices. Great tasten!

Next morning the stove wouldnt stay lit at all. He had to take it apart and hold it in is jacket because a part of the fuel bottle had froze.

Luckily our Splits were ready to go find snow before we were. They had accumulated it overnight.

A closer look at our new popsicles.

Ahhh sweeeeeet fire. And for breakfast it was a good pot of Oatmeal. With 3/4 of an entire stick of butter and over a cup of brown sugar. Yum!

Ski's, googles, poles....Looks like were set!

A nicely wind loaded tree. Served as our windbreaker. The tree holding this snow up is bent completly over. If you knocked the snow off then the chances are this tree could whip you across the valley.

Cool stuff! I'm surprised the daylight is that bright, I thought it was darker there at this time of the year.

This is a great story. How cold was the low?

I am in awe that you actually camped in that! I must say that you are much braver than me. Great photos! Thank you so much for sharing. Now I think I will go sit in the sun on my patio and thaw out.

I feel chilled just looking at these? You captured the evening well. Did you sleep in the tent or did you also have a snow cave? Either way it looks like you had fun.

Slept in the tent. We were contemplating a snow cave but it was to dark by the time we got to our campsite that we had to skip the idea.

The daylight hours are not long. That shot of the tent in the dark is around 5pm.
