Singer/songwriter Jonatha Brooke in Philadelphia last night. The night started off classy.

As it got later, everyone was beginning to loosen up.

Near midnight it started to get a little crazy.

After a Midnight toast, it got wild.

Everyone had a good time and rested up today!

They let you in with that lens?
    Hi Fred,

Those concert shots are awesome. How do you get in with that big lens? They don't mind? I always end up having to check my camera at shows.

    thanks!

Actually Trish, I spoke to Jonatha's management about photo's a few months ago. They deferred to the venue, which does prohibit cameras. I went to the rehearsal and took some shots with an 85 1.8, which was OK with Jonatha. I attended the 1st show and didn't take any pictures, keeping the camera discreetly covered. By the time of the second show, everyone had a few "toasts" to the New Year and there were flashes going off everywhere. No one minded by that point. I would not be able to take that lens in again. I have followed Andy's tactic of the 85mm 1.8 in the same venue and have gotten away with a few dirty looks from the "house photographer".

    I get it.
Somewhat under wraps, but it wasn't so black and white. They're great shots. Good for you.

    What's Andy's tactic with the 85mm 1.4? I haven't heard about that.

    cheers,
    Trish

My understanding: Enter discretely with camera in one pocket and lens in another.

I'll have to dig around and find my body cap now. :-)
