I have a gallery that is using the slideshow style. Is it possible to have a navigation filmstrip like this such as in this site

That site does not use SmugMug.

I have not seen a customization to create a style like that. The closest I know of is an alteration of SmugMug style to create a filmstrip style. See http://www.aaronmphotography.com/Customizations/Gallery/FIlmstrip-Gallery-Style for an example and instructions.
