Thresher Sharks

I again had the chance to photograph the thresher sharks at Monad Shoal in the Philippines. These sharks come there to get cleaned, and it's one of the few places in the world where divers can see these otherwise open-ocean, deep-water animals. It's quite a trip to be so close to them. Since strobes would scare the sharks, all pictures are taken with ambient light - at sunrise, 25 meters deep! You get to appreciate a camera which does well with high ISO! I also used a closed circuit rebreather to get close to the big fish.
Enjoy!

Your underwater adventures, always mind blowing!
Thanks! These sharks only bite sardines, though, hehe. They hunt by thrashing their tail around.
That's nice to know! Thanks!
I would make a 'Left Shark' joke.....but then I would have to explain what Superbowl is, who Katy Perry is, why Left-Shark is famous....
.....but if you see one...do post the snap!
Cheers!:D
The clarity and smoothness of the blue is outstanding. Remarkable shots.

Thanks for the praise! Yes, it's a combination of poor light conditions and fast, shy animals. Not easy!
