Scaling is broken again

For the longest time the new smugmug wouldn't show the original size in full screen or the slide show. Then one day it started scaling them to the original size when appropriate.
This made me very happy as I size all my pictures to have a vertical size of 1080.
With the latest changes it's back to the old problem of horizontal sizes less then 1600 not generating an X3-Large size and no Original size in the size list.

Here is a picture uploaded before the latest change. Note Original is in the size list and it is the proper size.

Here is a picture of the same size uploaded after the changes. Note that there is no Original size in the size list and the full screen is not the original size like in the first picture.

Let me do some more investigation and get back to you. Here's what I see happening:

The original image is larger than the X2 dimensions, so normally an X3 size would be generated. The X3 size, though, would be identical to the Original and it appears we do not generate the X3 because of that. That sort-of makes sense, perhaps to save on hard-drive storage. Things break down a bit after this...

In the first image, the gallery has a max display size of "Original". The Original size gets displayed in the LB.
In the second image, the gallery has a max display size of "X3". Original images aren't loaded and since no X3 was generated, it drops down to the X2. Had an X3 been generated it would have been displayed here. That seems off to me. I'll get back to you shortly.

For the record, since the X3 and Original are the same size, you can solve the problem by setting your gallery Max Display size to Original. This, however, turns on downloading of the images, which may not be desirable.

I looked into this a little bit further for you. The image you uploaded is not large enough to generate the X3 image. If you upload a larger image (for example, increase the width to 1610px wide), an X3 will generate and the X3 can be viewed in the lightbox. Another option would be to change the maximum display size to Original since the Originals are smaller than X3. Did you set it to X3 so that downloaded would be disabled?

That is the difference. I started a new gallery and it got set to maximum size X3 instead of original.
I changed it to Original and it's working as expected now. Sorry for the confusion.

    Cheers,
