Coldish temperatures and bribery work well together. I'd put some sugar/honey syrup on the camellia flower so the drone was busy feeding and took no notice of what I was up to (as long as I was fairly careful)

Just need it to be sunny for this to work in Winter time. I was actually holding the flower in my left hand and resting the lens on the same hand to stabilise everything. You can see my fingers in #1

Great set (as usual). I can't believe these are taken without tripod - you have very steady hands!
Thanks Jo - Guess I do have fairly steady hands, But it is actually fairly stable holding the camera one handed- and resting the lens on the hand holding whatever the subject is sitting on. It mechanically links the camera to the subject which is actually a more stable situation than on a tripod for outdoors macro.
