Homepage Slow to Open Photos

When opening my homepage www.arrowphotos.com the gallery photos don't load quickly (takes 4-5 seconds) and all the viewer sees is some text.

I have tried these things:
1. Remove the arcs on the corners - no change in performance.
2. Remove all customization to the homepage - no change in performance.

I am thinking that maybe the time is consumed by Smugmug dynamically modifying the size of the photos to fit the current window.

Any other ideas?

When I open the OPs site there is a noticeable amount of time where only the text is showing. It may only be a second or 2 for me but it does not open to the photos first.

I ran a speed test (http://my.verizon.com/services/speedtest/) on my connection and it shows my speed as 84 Mbps down.

Thank you for your response. I ran the speed test as well and downloads were 30Mbps down. I suspect that my customers have a slower speed than that. I have contacted the SmugMug support directly and I will let you know where it goes from here.
