Images take forever to upload to Smugmug

So yesterday I uploaded 900 images into a gallery. 21 hours later 750 have loaded....still not all loaded.
This is normal. Any time I upload images from my computer to Smugmug....takes....forever....

Is this the same for all of you.....

Images are from 16mp and 24mp cameras, process and uploaded as jpegs.

is there anything I can do to make these full sized images load faster.

How big are the JPGs and how much upload bandwidth do you have?

Normal full size jpegs from a 16mp raw. Dont know on band width. My question is doesnt that seem like a long time.....do every ones images load so slowly?

I haven't uploaded the number of photos you are uploading at once but I have uploaded several hundred. My uploads generally complete very quickly - but my Verizon contracted upload / download speed is 75 Mbps in each direction. I just ran their speed test (http://my.verizon.com/services/speedtest/) to verify and it showed 83.91 Mbps down and 91.73 Mbps up.

SmugMug has tests you can run to check your speed.

I found it very interesting to compare the results on the smug tests with my verizon tests. Using the smug tests I saw 10.51 Mbps download (as opposed to Verizon's 83.91 down) but the upload speed was close with the smug test showing 84.52 Mbps up (as opposed to Verizon's 91.73 up).

I would recommend running the smugmug tests and also finding out if your internet service provider has tests that you can run.

It entirely depends on your bandwidth, as mentioned.

900 images at full res jpegs from this location, would take days!

I would 'kill' to have Denise's capacity! lol

Quite often if you have a typical 'up to 20 Mbps' phone line connection which is pretty common (in the UK at least), you might be getting 18Mbps or so download but maybe only 1-2Mbps upload. Doesn't seem unreasonable for it to be taking that long to upload that many photos to me!
