Stretchy or fixed?

Wondering what your thoughts are on this? Do you tend to go for pages that stretch to fit the screen or are fixed at a certain width?
I wish there was an option to stretch to 75% or whatever too. I know you can add margins on stretchy mode but I can only see how to have fixed width margins which to me seems to defeat the point of having a stretchy layout! I have so many spacer boxes on my pages because of this!

You can't control what the viewer's screen size is, so using 'Stretchy' allows the content to fit on different monitor sizes. I have a smaller monitor and I really hate viewing sites when I have to scroll right to see the site.

I prefer the interaction with a stretchy site but I find that for pages with text allowing the page width to stretch to the full width of a large screen monitor makes reading somewhat uncomfortable. My site is set to stretchy but I have set a container width for my About and Kaleidoscope pages.

I think that is probably the best of both worlds I suppose! I think stretchy looks odd at any extremes of resolution. Very small resolutions look weird and, as you said, very large resolutions do too!
