    boost the contrast just a little and maybe curve on it?


    ne_nau.gif colors seem just a tad flat to me.

    They're selective. And done in a way that's not obvious...I don't really care for the effect, but if you want to do it, try boosting the contrast between color and monochrome. Except for the hat. Plenty of color there!

    Take more time with your masking.. It's very evident.

    are you talking about the blurring around the hat?--

    I had originally just color ranged the hat but his face was REALLY flat that way, so I color ranged his face and desaturated it and then colorranged the cheeks on top of that--

    appreciate the point re contrast of color to monochrome--

    the picture was a hit with my wife and daughter--

    it's definitely gimmicky but I enjoyed working on it, now I know a little more to improve this type of picture----

    it was not a scan--
