I particularly like the female midge, the face-off with the spiders, and the eyes of the moth fly.

Re the spider, I was surprised to see 2 spiders fairly close to each other- normally they chase each other off but whilst I was shooting them another spider came along and joined them.

Is that slug egg mass on a stalk (something I would not expect) or is that an optical illusion?

It's an optical illusion Harold - the egg mass is firmly stuck to the underside of a damp compost bin lid.
